March Challenge
What exactly is a March Challenge? I have been inspired by my favorite blogger, Ali Maffucci , to do a monthly challenge ( Seriously check her out! One of the most inspiring bloggers out there) . I mean who doesn't like trying new things. Every month, I will choose something that I want to accomplish and try for 30 days! After the 30 days, if I like it, I'll continue doing it and if I don't well at least I tried. So what's my March challenge you may ask? Run a mile a day and run a marathon in April (two challenges in one). A little history on this challenge. I have been wanting to run a marathon for a few years now. I am not a runner but have always wanted to become one (i felt weird typing that haha). I have close friends in my hometown (Staten Island) who are always running and did the New York Marathon last year. They have been inspiring me for a while (shoutout to Tati & Libni!). It's been three years since I've made running a marathon a goal but I never get to it. Now my dad ran his first 5k week last week and that was the final push I needed (peep his picture down below!)
Not only that but I have finally embraced the gym again this year and have learned to like working out instead of making it such a burden. I am pushing myself everyday with things I didnt even know I could do before! I even joined OrangeTheory fitness which is a HIIT workout that concentrates on your heart rate. It is intense but after almost 3 weeks of joining, I can already see my body changing. I feel that I am reaching the "most fit" I have been and this is the perfect time to run that marathon.
So I hope this can encourage you to try something new for thirty days just like I was inspired too. Whether it's reading a book, trying a new workout, or simply just taking time for yourself everyday. I am excited for this challenge. Any runners out there?
